Jon Zimmer is the co-founder of Iron Shield and is dedicated to his vision of helping enhance safety and security preparedness by using invaluable lessons learned during his 20 plus years in Law Enforcement.  Jon spent over 16 years of his career in Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (SWAT), 6 of those years as a Sr. team leader and supervising all tactical training, as well as the coordination, planning and execution of tactical operations.  Jon has trained in a variety of specialized areas and became a lead trainer in active shooter response, combat casualty care and multiple other disciplines.  He has worked as an adjunct instructor for delivering active assailant instruction to several state and local agencies.  Jon currently serves in his law enforcement agency as the commander of the Special Events Section overseeing the planning and security of all major special events such as concerts, parades and festivals.   He additionally works with touring music artists providing consultation and dignitary protection for tours and large public appearances such as awards shows.  Jon holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Saint Louis University (2003).
